PLUS Debbie Wathews and Flis Callow from Sheffield Women Against Pit Closures on a new project about the story of the pit camp, set up in January 1993, which were involved in at Houghton Main Pit, South Yorkshire, the subject of their new book ‘You Can’t Kill The Spirit’.

Standing room only and great presentations by Nick Jones (former BBC Industrial Correspondent) on the Cabinet papers and the 1992-3 round of pit closures and Flis Callow and Debbie Mathews on their book, You Can’t Kill The Spirit, on the seven pit camps set up in the wake of the threat to close the pits and their involvement in the Great Houghton pit camp.
